Young Infants Children at this age are exploring with books. They are beginning to reach and grasp so their books are sturdy and often board books,plastic, cloth, or vinyl.Their books have a lot of texture and focus on a lot of familiar things to an infant:food, clothes, toys, pets and people. Stories are simple, rhythmic and sometimes don't have any words. |
Mobile Infants Infants at this age enjoy books with repetition, rhyming verses, and nonsense syllables. They have graduated to mostly board books and also can follow along with simple stories. They are also beginning to recognize and name objects and pictures in the books.

Toddlers Toddlers at this age like to hear stories about children and animals whose lives are similiar to their own. This age group enjoys listening to stories read out loud and they also enjoy books with pages they can turn. They love books with silly words and that make them laugh. Toddlers also love to ask questions about they pictures in the books |
