Enviornment
Our goal is make sure that each child feels at home and that the environment is welcoming and friendly. We have well defined spaces for the children. Quiet areas such as sleeping and reading are spaced away from the loud areas such as large motor and manipulatives. Our playarea gives the children plenty of space to explore and run around. We have many push toys, riding toys, tumbling mats, and foam furniture for the children to experiment with. Our small motor toys consist of blocks, puzzles, and many other fun things for the children to play with. Quiet time is also an important time of day for the children. Staff is always present when the children are sleeping and are there to comfort the children when they need an adult. |
Structure
Our center respects individual schedules for infants and when the children get older they are more flexible with their schedule. Infants have their own schedules and our staff respects any special resquests parents may have for their children. We let the children eat, sleep, play, and change dirty diapers as needed. We keep clip boards for each child and keep track of all these events in the child's day. Toddlers become more consistent and aimed more at group play. Their schedules are more specific but still flexible. They eat, sleep, and play around the same time each day and do this all as a group. Doing this as a group helps toddlers become more independent and helps build confidence. Our staff is very understanding to still look at each child's individual needs.
