Literacy

Children engage in many activities throughout the day the promote literacy. We do songs, finger plays, and stories. It is important for children to begin to distinguish between sounds and rhymes.Young infants are able to recongnize their parent's voices at a young age. Mobile infants, about 6 months to 12 months, begin to play with speech and babble. They are recognizing speech sounds and imitate their caregivers. Toddlers begin to repeat words and phrases that they hear. Infants Toddlers & Twos makes sure that the children's teachers are constantly talking to them and that the children are walking away each day gaining something new.
