Young Infants Young infants respond to music and move their heads to the sound and respong by smiling, laughing, and turning their heads. They are calmed when music is soft and calming like lullabies. They are more energetic when the music is lively. Some music and sounds can be overstimulating for infants and some may be more sensitive to this. |
Mobile Infants Infants at this age can begin with playing instruments, dancing, and singing. Children are encouraged but not forced to engage in these activities because it helps build their language skills and their physical coordination

Toddlers Toddlers have learned to disciminate between different sounds and are fascinated with nonverbal sounds they can produce. They enjoy music and fingerplays and look at it as a social experience. They love to repeat songs over and over and simple songs are easy for them to follow along.
